Today I started making craft items for Sammie's baby shower. I'm going to go to Salt Lake on Thursday and help plan it. It will be fun!

Have to work again tomorrow, yuck! You would think that since I work from home it would be no big deal, but some days I just want to sit around and have nothing to do but relax.

Christmas 2009

I had a really good Christmas this year. Was able to go to both Mikelle's and Jadeyn's Christmas programs. On Christmas Eve we had chili and scones at mom's.

My dogs loved getting their Christmas treats and went crazy trying to get their stocking.


On Christmas day Jeramy & Mel brought down Jackson and Fiona. It was great to see those two kids again.






In the evening Art's kids came over. Aaron, Amanda, & Amanda's husband Stephen. We opened gifts, played the Wii, and ate snacks. It was a great time!

Today I went to Lehi and saw Jadeyn's school program. She was just darling. Afterward I went to lunch with Stacie, her two girls, & Bev (Stacie's Grandma). It was really nice sitting and chatting with everyone. Bev filled me in that Ashley's girls were able to participate in a special Christmas event where they got to meet Disney Princesses and receive Christmas gifts. I'm so happy that they were able to have something fun like that and hopefully it took their minds of the loss of their mother for just a while.

I just finished making Caramel popcorn and I'm going to make some more Chewy chocolate chip brownies.

Tomorrow I'm going up to Grandmother's house and hopefully will be going over to the Hill's to drop of some Christmas goodies.

Busy times

This week has been a busy week for me. Tuesday I got my hair done I finished up my Christmas cards.

Thursday I went out to lunch with Sammie and we also went to RC Willey and picked out some new furniture. Then I went to Dinny's retirement party.

Friday I addressed all my envelopes and sent out the cards that I had enough stamps for. Made the following goodies: Chewy Coconut & Chocolate Chip bars,Rocky Road, Peanut-butter Balls. Went to the bank and purchased the bonds for Grandmother, and then went to club. When I got home I ordered some slippers for Missy's husband Dave. She didn't want him to know what he was getting, so that's why I ordered them for her. Of course two things happened during that time. first I forgot to move a plate of my goodies from being to close to the edge of the counter and my girls got them off the counter and ate seven out of nine. Second, I'm so used to buying online and sending things to my address, that when I ordered Dave's slippers I sent them to my address, which of course isn't good, because they are for Christmas. I couldn't cancel the order, so I had to order again and send them to Missy's house. Needless to say I have an extra pair of Bulldog slippers.

Saturday I got up early showered fed the dogs and put in 40 min on treadmill and about 20 on WII fit. Went to the post office shipped Missy's stuff she left here to her, and bought more stamps and finished sending out cards. Then I picked up Mom and Raelynn. We went over to Orem to JoAnn's to see if they had a Bias maker thing that Mom wanted, they did and I even worked with the manger to get her more than half off on it. We then went to RC Willey and I showed them the furniture I wanted. They thought it was a good choice too, so I took the plunge and bought it. The furniture will be delivered on Wednesday December 16th - My Birthday, so Happy Birthday to me! Once I got home I made some goodies, which include Double Delicious Cookie Bars, Chocolate Chex Caramel Crunch, & regular Chex mix.


Today so far I've just been messing on computer, spent about 20 min with WII fit(lost 1.8 lbs) and made White Chocolate covered pretzels, . I still would like to make Pecan Caramels, Divinity, & Caramel Popcorn. Need to grab a bite of lunch and then get on treadmill

I made a few crafts these past two weeks. Now I've got to get going on my Christmas cards.

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. Missy and her family came down from Idaho and Jeramy & Mel came from SLC. We also had the traditional Bingo game. It was a fun time for all. The only person missing was Art, but he needed to spend Thanksgiving with his kids.

After having a sad day on Saturday going to Ashley's funeral, I decided to get a little crafty on Sunday. Here is what I was able to get done. The temple on the jars took quite some time to do. I had to get the vinyl out of every nook and cranny. I'm pleased with how it turned out. I've started to decorate the nut cups for Thanksgiving. So far I have a little turkey on them, but can't decide what else to put on them. It's driving me crazy. Part of the problem is because they are so small.

These are the crafts I made this week. The snow people jars are for Sandy. She loves snowmen. I really enjoy making this type of stuff. Now I need to figure out who to give everything to.

Today is Veteran's Day. I'm thinking of my Dad today,he served in the Army. I'm very thankful for all the people that fight for our freedoms.

I'm also thinking of Sandy today. Ashley passed away on Monday November 9th. After talking with Sandy she is in a lot of pain, but also knows that Ashley is in a better place and she will be OK. We all loved Ashley and will miss her.

Sadness

Today I'm feeling sad, because my best friend of 33 years, Sandy, is in pain. About two years ago her daughter Ashley was in an accident and was paralyzed. Sandy has been working hard to take care of not only Ashley but her three daughters. She has done a wonderful job.

Last night Stacie notified me that Ashley wasn't doing well. She had recovered from surgery and seemed to be doing fine. Apparently after she went to sleep a blood clot went to her heart. Sandy said that she was coded for 20 min. As of this morning, Sandy didn't seem to have much hope. They were going to do a scan on Ashely to see if she had any brain activity.

I can't imagine the pain she must be in right now. I wish I were there to comfort her. Sandy has been so strong trough all of this and I admire her greatly. This is something I don't think I could have ever handled. My thoughts and prayers are with her and the family. God will know what is best and I trust in that.

Here is some of the crafty stuff I did over the weekend

This week was a very long and busy work week 51 hours. I did manage to get some house work and laundry done. Also made a few crafty items. Pictures below.

Yesterday I decoupaged these MDF blocks I got from Stampin-up - I had originally wanted to decoupage pictures on them, but decided I wanted to add some more color into my living room. I kind of like them. Not sure if I'll keep using all seven, but for now I will.

This week I went to Salt Lake for two meetings and once to visit Grandmother. Mom and I started planning Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. What we are have and who is in charge of what. It will be great this year because Missy and her kids are going to be coming down. I really look forward to it.

Last night Colton called and talked for a while. He is such a sweet, smart boy. he will be 12 on the 30th of this month.



I did one crafty thing so far this week. Made a Halloween jar for Brenda and of course I have a picture here for you.

Christmas Tin

Well here it is my first Christmas tin. It took about 3 hours to make. I think it turned out pretty dang good!

I'm tired of driving to Salt Lake!!!!! Twice last week, four times this week and three times next week. Enough already!!

Going to Judy's retirement dinner tonight. I made her this jar as a gift.
